Flexible academic learning enhances career opportunities in everyday working life within the hotel sector

Berlin, 15. April 2026. Leonardo Hotels Central Europe is making a targeted investment in the future of its employees. The company is delighted to be entering into a new cooperation agreement with SRH Fernhochschule – The Mobile University, one of Germany’s leading distance learning-based institutes of higher education for in-service continuing training. This partnership will combine professional practice with flexible study formats and will thus open up new prospects for all members of staff in terms of personal development, occupational growth and lifelong learning.

“People who wish to pursue their jobs with passion form the lifeblood of our sector,” stated Simone Haselier, Learning & Development Director, Leonardo Hotels Central Europe. “For this reason, we are creating parameters which make development possible and also actively promote advancement. The SRH Fernhochschule enables us to provide our employees with a further point of access to high quality academic continuing training which is flexible, individual and directly applicable. This strengthens both their career pathways and the joint future of our company.”

As part of the cooperation agreement, Leonardo Hotels staff members will receive a discount on all courses of study and certificate programmes offered by SRH Fernhochschule. Provision encompasses more than 70 Bachelor and Masters courses of study as well as over 180 practically related higher education certificates in areas as diverse as Business Administration & Hotel Management, Digital Innovation, Revenue Management and Sustainable Leadership. Leonardo Hotels is also giving additional financial support for continuing training if a course of study is connected with career planning.

Christian Gerard, the Managing Director of SRH Fernhochschule, sees the collaboration as a example of how digital and flexible learning and professional practice can be merged in ideal fashion. “Our distance learning offers Leonardo Hotels employees new pathways towards developing their careers in a flexible and practically relevant way. We will show together how personal development and professional success can go hand-in-hand in everyday working life in the hospitality sector.”

Leonardo Hotels Central Europe’s cooperation arrangements demonstrate a clear approach and also reflect reality on the ground in the form of an employer culture which encourages development, fosters talent and offers employees long-term perspectives – both in their own future interest and in the interest of the future of hospitality at Leonardo Hotels.
