A new top destination for Business and Leisure Travellers

Leonardo Hotels Central Europe launches the Leonardo Esslingen and establishes its very first presence in the Stuttgart region

Berlin, 10 January 2024 - Leonardo Hotels Central Europe is continuing to implement its plans for expansion by adding a significant location in southern Germany to its portfolio. The Leonardo Esslingen will become the group’s first hotel in the Stuttgart region when it opens for business on 10 January 2024. Business guests will enjoy the use of a conference area extending over a total area of 325 square metres and boasting five bright rooms with plenty of natural daylight and modern meetings technology. They will also have easy access to the “Neckar Forum”, a conference and events centre which can accommodate over 1,000 persons. This direct connection and our close collaboration with the Urban District of Esslingen in its role as the operator of the Neckar Forum means that the Leonardo Esslingen will be offering one of the largest conferencing capacities in the economic location surrounding Stuttgart, the capital of Baden-Württemberg. The centre of Stuttgart and the city’s airport and trade fair centre are all only around 15 kilometres away.

“The opening of our first hotel in the Stuttgart region represents a successful continuation of our expansion strategy in the areas of both business and leisure travel,” explained Yoram Biton, Managing Director Leonardo Hotels Central Europe. “We are very much looking forward to this new project and to our strong cooperation with the Neckar Forum Conference Centre and with the District of Esslingen. The Leonardo Esslingen is a highly attractive destination for meetings and events as well as for city trips and active holidays.”

Ingo Rust, Mayor of Esslingen, added: “Following a long period in which the site has been vacant, we are delighted that the hotel attached to the Neckar Forum will once again be available to the citizens of Esslingen and to visiting business travellers, tourists and conference guests. We hope that things get off to a good start and would like to wish the team from Leonardo Hotels every success at this new location.”

The hotel’s 151 rooms and suites and its public areas have undergone extensive renovations and now feature a resplendent new look. In addition to all of this, a health and beauty spa and fitness area complete with a steam bath, two saunas, a whirlpool and a gym will soon be available to visitors.

As is the case at all Leonardo Hotels, there is an individual and fresh interior design style which shows local flair. Leonardo Hotels are well known for their warm and welcoming culture, and the inviting open lobby is just one of the aspects which reveals this. The generously proportioned rooms exude a look of timeless elegance which imparts a sense of cosiness and homeliness. A further important factor for Andreas Neudahm, who was in charge of interior design, was to create a reference to the location of Esslingen. “Esslingen is a town of beautiful façades and street layouts, and replicating these motifs in the hotel was very much part of our concept.” Specially produced photographs have, for example, been introduced to decorate the rooms and the stylish bar.

The restaurant opens out onto a large terrace and serves up Eastern Mediterranean-inspired food accompanied by wines sourced from local vintners. The roof terrace, the only hotelowned facility of this type in Esslingen, is definitely one of the highlights. A bar and all-round views out over the roofs of the old quarter make it the ideal location for events or for a sundowner.

The hotel is situated on the edge of town, just a short walk from Esslingen’s picturesque centre and around one kilometre from the station. Kessler, Germany’s oldest producer of sparkling wine, can be reached on foot in only ten minutes. Nature lovers, hikers and cyclists will all find charming landscapes to explore in the surrounding area. These are set amidst vineyards which form part of the Württemberg Wine Route.
